Normally last 5-digits are recorded in FIR, Insurance and even in RC’s e:g 26968 where the
complete number is SB308-IN1926968

Correct chassis no. noted for the same vehicle is SB308-IN1926968.
Here some times very interestingly the people have noted engine no as F8B 796CC which is
not the chassis or engine number but is the cubic capacity of the vehicle. .

Correct way of noting the Chassis No of Hyundai make vehicles is MALAB51HR7M190576 and not as 90576 as being practiced.

Similarly the engine no. of same vehicle is G4HG7M252834 and not like 52834 as being incorrectly noted .

Correct way of noting the Chassis No of Tata motors cars chassis no is 607154JTZPD6111 and not like 607154JTZ or PD6111,D6111 etc which are all incorrect

Normally last 5-digits are recorded in FIR, Insurance and even in RC’s e:g PD6111 where as the complete number is 607154JTZPD6111
